Mazda RX-8’s weight has an almost even 50-50 distribution on the front and mid-portion. The perfect balance was achieved through the location of the engine and the fuel tank. The engine is placed following the front axle while the fuel tank was put in the middle, just before the rear axle. This same feature also serves to maintain the agility of the car. Perfect balance means greater control and precise steering.
The RX-8’s exterior is also made unique. Its doors are made to look like suicide doors; the difference is that it does not have B-pillars. The soon-to-be-released 2008-2009 Mazda RX-8 will come with more enhanced features. The chassis bracings were increased to add more firmness. Some other cosmetic changes have also been made. The 2008-2009 model will also feature a two-rotor rotary engine to deliver better driving performance. This engine is smaller and lighter so it promises the same speed, while providing greater agility and control.
